The EveryBody Campaign was started in August 2010 by Samantha Bell.

It is a blog for EveryBody from size 0 to size 32, from 4 feet tall to 7 feet tall. For people with blue eyes, green eyes, brown eyes, hazel eyes and all those in between. For men and women. For the fat and the skinny. For the athletic and the lazy. For the anorexic and the bulimics. For blonds, red heads and brunettes. For freckles and pale skin. Hairy or bald. Tattooed or pierced. Asians, Europeans, Africans, North and South Americans. For the religious or the scientific. For the rich and the poor. For students, parents and grandparents. And of course for those who are a combination of any of these things.

For anyone who ever felt ugly.

This is a place for you to love yourself for who you are.

EveryBody is beautiful.

This is powerful, almost too powerful. How many of you feel hurt when you see this? How many of you feel sad for her or for people that will put her down for her body? Has society brainwashed us into making us believe this is “ugly” ? I dont know the answers, but maybe this will make you think twice.

What is the Most Attractive Female Body Type?
The BBC has just conducted a very large survey about body image. They showed both men and women the pictures above and asked them to pick the most attractive body type. Most men picked the second picture. This was the most curvaceous body. Women were more likely to pick the first picture, a slimmer more athletic body. Very few people picked the third skinny photo. Only 2% of men and 5% of women thought this was the most attractive body.

Judy Freespirit

riotsnotdiets:

Judy Freespirit, one of the founders of FA, has passed away today.

In honor of her memory, please read the following:

FAT LIBERATION MANIFESTO

1. WE believe that fat people are fully entitled to human respect and recognition.

2. WE are angry at mistreatment by commercial and sexist interests. These have exploited our bodies as objects of ridicule, thereby creating an immensely profitable market selling the false promise of avoidance of, or relief from, that ridicule.

3. WE see our struggle as allied with the struggles of other oppressed groups against classism, racism, sexism, ageism, financial exploitation, imperialism and the like.

4. WE demand equal rights for fat people in all aspects of life, as promised in the Constitution of the United States. We demand equal access to goods and services in the public domain, and an end to discrimination against us in the areas of employment, education, public facilities and health services.

5. WE single out as our special enemies the so-called “reducing” industries. These include diet clubs, reducing salons, fat farms, diet doctors, diet books, diet foods and food supplements, surgical procedures, appetite suppressants, drugs and gadgetry such as wraps and “reducing machines”.

WE demand that they take responsibility for their false claims, acknowledge that their products are harmful to the public health, and publish long-term studies proving any statistical efficacy of their products. We make this demand knowing that over 99% of all weight loss programs, when evaluated over a five-year period, fail utterly, and also knowing the extreme proven harmfulness of frequent large changes in weight.

6. WE repudiate the mystified “science” which falsely claims that we are unfit. It has both caused and upheld discrimination against us, in collusion with the financial interests of insurance companies, the fashion and garment industries, reducing industries, the food and drug industries, and the medical and psychiatric establishment.

7. WE refuse to be subjugated to the interests of our enemies. We fully intend to reclaim power over our bodies and our lives. We commit ourselves to pursue these goals together.

FAT PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, UNITE! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE ….

"

When you’re trapped by your own self-hatred, it can make simple tasks seem impossible. It can fool you into believing that you’re not capable or strong, or that you couldn’t possibly put forth the effort required to meet your goals. Yes, hating your body affects your confidence in other areas of life and diminishes your overall self-worth. Letting go of that negativity allows you to reclaim the power to act and achieve. When you love yourself, you value yourself, and you act accordingly.

People love you. They do, and they always will. But in the end, you must be your own champion. The only person who can truly teach the world about your marvelous, sensual, graceful, unique, lovely, and undeniably beautiful self is YOU. When you believe you’re beautiful, the world believes right along with you.

Loving yourself is hard. It’s work. It’s never-ending and there are a thousand forces working against your success. But believe me when I say it is worth the effort. You are worth the effort. Put that effort forth and you will be dazzled by the world of opportunity that unfolds before you.
